First things first, what is Jiu-Jitsu? What is grappling?

The most fun you've ever had rolling around on the floor.

Jiu Jitsu is a martial art / combat sport that doesn't involve any striking. Instead, it focuses on controlling ones opponent or training parter through the use of takedowns (getting them to the ground), pins (holding them to the ground) and submissions (chokes or joint locks designed to make the opponent give up and tap out). Grappling is an overarching term for all non-striking combat sports. We like the term grappling because we draw inspiration from lots of these sports (wrestling, judo etc.) but hey, tomayto tomarto.

Great - What is the Trilemma Beginners Foundation Course then?

5 structured introductory classes, undertaken at your own pace.

Basically, it works like this:

The course consists of 5 specific introductory classes (each on a distinct topic), that will give you all the skills and confidence you need to enter into our regular adult classes. These classes are run every Thursday at 5:45 - 6:30pm in a cycle, and don't need to be undertaken in any specific order. This means you can take the course at your own pace.

Having the time of your life? Smash out 5 weeks straight and enter into our regular classes.

Dog got sick and you missed a week? Get to that topic the next time its run, and be done in 7 weeks.

Really nervous and struggling to make it back to class? Take a year to finish it.

We don't mind - once you're in, your sessions don't expire. Hell, you can even repeat the same topic a bunch of times if you feel like you need it.

Our goal is to get you confidently training in our regular classes, however that looks for you.

What does it cost and what exactly am I getting?

$150 and as much value as we could cram in.

- 5 specific introductory classes that expire never, undertaken at your own pace. Guaranteed to make you better at jiu-jitsu than 50 classes at the other gym in town.

- A Trilemma rashguard (training top) valued at $70. You're going to need something to wear after all.

- A cafe style punch card to track your progress. 5 stamps and you're ready for regular classes (you can have 1 for free I guess).

- All of our love and attention for 45 minutes a week (practically priceless).

- Reference videos to revise what you've learned.
